  • Summary

    We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as an Safety Manager in our growing Adorn Custom Vinyls facility. Custom Vinyls is a manufacturer of interior flat laminated panels and wrapped mouldings for the Manufactured Housing, Recreational Vehicle and Industrial/Commercial industries. Our expertise includes saw cutting and laminating of substrates, both one side and two sided, in various sizes, to meet any customer requirement. 


    With the Support from the Business Unit Director (BUD) and EHS Director, the Safety Manager is responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining safety programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees throughout the facility. This will be accomplished by managing the overall framework and processes of the Custom Vinyls EHS Management System, which guides the development and implementation of the environmental, health, safety and social risk management programs for the Division. These programs minimize environmental impacts, assure regulatory compliance, and maximize the safety of operations by partnering with various internal departments and making recommendations to senior management.

    Specific Responsibilities


    • Deliver regulatory safety training and other internal safety training as identified and needed
    • Develop and issue Safety Alerts in a timely manner
    • Address safety issues identified by the plant leaders and employees and develop action plans to correct identified issues
    • Develop a metric based safety program and ensure that it is communicated, embraced, and managed
    • Work closely with departments to develop safety programs (lockout/tag out, etc.)
    • Create and sustain a productive work culture and safe work environment
    • Manage workers’ compensation process and claims management
    • Ensure proper records are being kept and reports are made as required
      • Prompt reaction to reporting, diligent attention to detail without overthinking the report, good follow through, excellent employee management in Workers Compensation situations, complete understanding of situations
    • Effectively develop, implement, lead, and audit EHS monitoring and measurement plans, train personnel to implement those plans and be able to accurately analyze complex data
      • Presented to BUD for approval and review. The goal is to have a system that can endure through good processing and auditing
    • Lead safety related audits as needed – crucial portion of the job. 70% on the floor engaged with the team
    • Reviewing OSHA logs – Accurate, and timely
    • Manage environmental, compliance and safety programs through the Business Unit
    • Establish and provide strategic leadership for the development, implementation, and administration of a Division Safety Team – Safety Committee engagement and participation in the floor – Audits with the committee
    • Communicate with employees by keeping all personnel informed of EHS related matters, handling questions, interpreting and developing programs, resolving EHS related issues while promoting a culture of safety and heightened safety awareness
      • Promote safety education through tool boxes and awareness reviews
    • Effectively develop, implement, lead, and audit Emergency Response plans and program, train personnel to implement those plans and be able to assume the EHS Officer role to support the Incident Commander on scene or at the corporate office
    • Determine EHS training requirements at the Business Units and ensure all personnel receive training applicable to their work processes. Ensures contractors comply with EHS training requirements as stated in agreements



    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • Experience and technical knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and EHS risk management
    • 3+ years’ experience leading Safety efforts for manufacturing facility
    • Bi-lingual Spanish/English language skills desirable
    • Experience in a fast paced, manufacturing environment required
    • The ideal candidate must be able to embrace and lead change, possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to efficiently balance multiple projects and to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences
    • Experience with property risk management and workers’ compensation claims process and strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
    • Demonstrated orientation to understanding the business and business strategy, and the ability to apply EHS management process and tools to support strategic business objectives
    • OSHA training certification preferred
    • Must be able to manage multiple priorities make sound decisions, and handle pressure
    • The successful individual will be a mature self-starter, service-oriented and be professional in conduct, attitude and appearance
    • Ability to lead through influence is a key capability need to be successful in this role
    • Knowledge of EPA
