  • Summary

    WestSide Furniture is seeking a Warranty, Parts and Service Coordinator for their growing Business Unit located in Elkhart, IN. The Purpose of the Warranty, Parts and Service Coordinator is to develop and execute day-to-day business practices involving warranties, vendor relationships and other related activities. Individuals in this position must have knowledge of all programs and operational procedures and sales of the Business Unit in which they are assigned. 

    Primary objectives will include driving down and minimizing warranty costs while providing a Customer 1st focus to internal and external and customers. The Coordinator will also be responsible for enforcing existing warranty policies, claims management and process changes while managing and leading overall warranty analysis including the development of new processes and up to date data tracking systems.

    Specific Responsibilities

    Other Responsibilities Include:

    • Verify incoming warranty claims and requests to ensure that they are valid, by thoroughly investigating each claim and communicating with customer to gather necessary information to process claim in a timely manner
    • Investigate customer profiles to determine their purchases and warranty timelines
    • Keep Customers up to date on queries and concerns regarding damages and warranty claims
    • Work with vendors and suppliers to determine the cause of product malfunction, focusing on ensuring that similar incidents do not transpire in the future
    • Ability to follow and carry out requests made by management to accomplish company goals
    • Work with accounting personnel to request warranty charge numbers, and provide approvals for payments
    • Warranty Coordinator will be responsible to manage the Service Department, which includes working closely with the warehouse manager to hold team members accountable to follow procedures when bringing damaged items to Department to be serviced
    • Order parts needed for items to be repaired
    • Contact appropriate company to outsource and schedule repairs for damaged items

    • Must possess strong organizational skills, along with a great ability to prioritize work, and handle multitasking
    • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
    • Ability to understand complex oral and written instructions
    • Candidates must have strong leadership capabilities with the ability to operate independently, affect change across functions, and have a track record of delivered results
    • Must have exceptional computer skills, including MS Suites
    • Exceptional negotiation, written and verbal communication skills with all levels of internal and external customers
    • Must possess the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/work streams simultaneously
    • Ability to learn vendor product and program information
    • Understand company objectives, and possess the ability to make decisions and undertake actions, which balance customer needs with company policies
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executives, managers and/or customers
    • Ability to respond quickly to common and uncommon complains
    • Strong relationship building, communication and follow-up skills mandatory
    • Must be able to move up to 75lbs.
