  • Summary

    Indiana Marine Products, a division of Patrick Industries, is a manufacturer of marine products including wire harnesses and like products in Angola, IN and is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to focus on wire harness industry process engineering.

    Specific Responsibilities

    The Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will assist the Engineering Department and Maintenance personnel that support assembly and manufacturing throughout the facility. The position will have responsibilities including:


    • Programming of CNC Routers utilizing CAD CAM software
    • Program automated wire processing equipment to cut and terminate wires (Komax and Schleuniger)
    • Create Standard Work for assembly operations
    • Participate in Design For Manufacturability efforts with Product Engineering
    • Support manufacturing floor for production and R&D prototype assemblies
    • Review production equipment and assembly lines to ensure proper and safe operation and minimize and/or eliminate down time.
    • Develop and Implement a lean/continuous improvement annual cost reduction plan
    • Work with Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Operations Managers to develop lean manufacturing initiatives and lean conversion wherever appropriate
    • Develop routings and product standard labor hours for quoting.
    • Plan, justify, order, and implement capital equipment projects.


    • Bachelor of Science in relative technology field such as MET, IT, EET, DET, etc.
    • Must be a fluent in Microsoft Excel including an intermediate to mastery level in building Macros
    • Previous supervising experience is desired
    • 3+ years’ experience as a floor support engineer
    • 2-3 years’ experience with CAD CAM design software.
    • Demonstrated skills in:
      • Lean Manufacturing
      • Preventative maintenance
      • Routing Creation
    • Interpret concept parts and assemblies from CAD designs, hand drawings and sketches for prototype and production manufacturing methods.
    • Be able to read and interpret customer drawings, and specifications.
    • Strong background in managing and planning multiple projects simultaneously within given deadlines.
    • Ability and flexibility to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
    • Able to work overtime to complete priority due dates.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in terms of being clear, concise, and professional
    • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently with little to no oversight
    • Those with specific experience in wire processing equipment programming are highly desired
